Position Summary: The Sr. Training & Engagement Specialist creates and implements training strategies and facilitates meetings that increase engagement and achieve departmental and corporate goals.

We will consider roles close to either Virtuoso office locations (Seattle, WA or Fort Worth, TX), and virtual roles on a case-by-case basis.

Having an understanding and appreciation for the issues and opportunities in the professional travel industry from the vantage points of advisor, agency, partner, and traveler is integral to this position that encompasses being a facilitator, teacher, and leader. In addition to the skills needed to research, produce and deliver captivating content, this position requires a curiosity and interest in how adults learn, a point of view that can both inspire and challenge, a flair for the stage that energizes both the candidate and the audience, a sense of humor that helps to keep issues in perspective, a collaborative mindset, plus a willingness and conviction to be a voice for education and professionalism. 


 Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Develop and deliver engagement programs for Virtuoso exclusive programs such as Communities, Wanderlist, VCTA, and others.
  2. Responsible for creating a "WOW" experience when leading interactions with external and internal customers by consistently exceeding expectations.
  3. Provide professional facilitation of selected Virtuoso training programs offered to frontline consultants (such as professional selling series) and facilitate meetings for network-exclusive programs such as Innovation Teams, VCTA etc.
  4. Develop Peer-to-Peer training presented live & recorded and stored in the Virtuoso Travel Academy. Identify the topics and subject matter experts (SME) and work with SME to develop curriculum content.
  5. Guide and develop Virtuoso Wanderlist training strategy including recruitment and vetting of new advisors, and the development/implementation of related curriculum.
  6. Recommend and develop Professional Development and Training activities for the on-boarding of new advisors and to further support the Collaborative Travel Planning Process.
  7. Develop a feedback loop to assure that courses meet new member needs (validated by improved performance) to improvement quality, effectiveness and value of training to our constituents.
  8. Collect/use consultant feedback, industry trends and company objectives to recommend and participate in the development, acquisition and facilitation of frontline consultant training activities offered to Virtuoso member agencies.
  9. Provide insight into "best practices" and "How To's" for developing and delivering continuing education within Virtuoso's population to maximize adoption.
  10. Key contributor in brainstorming, organizing, overseeing and delivering training for major Virtuoso events.
  11. Represent and advocate Virtuoso on panels and industry events (approved by Virtuoso).


Educational and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Adult Education or related field preferred or equivalent related business experience
  • Minimum of 7 years related experience in a strategic training role, eLearning environment a plus
  • Work history demonstrating world class presentation skills
  • Proficiency with various Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Webex or other conferencing technologies a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete tasks within specified deadlines
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Travel Industry experience/knowledge a plus (CTA, CTC, CTIE highly desired)
  • Calm under pressure
  • Travel required
