Position Summary:  The Account Manager, Direct Marketing is responsible for managing Virtuoso-preferred travel supplier partner accounts to ensure their products and promotional content are presented accurately and compellingly across Virtuoso's marketing channels. The Account Manager, Direct Marketing also produces print marketing products that are distributed to Virtuoso-affiliated member travel agencies and their consumer clients.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Manage relationships with a designated set of supplier partners, ensuring their strategic marketing goals are accomplished, including requesting content, producing creative, selecting targeted consumer lists, and managing the review and approval process.
  2. Manage or contribute to assigned marketing projects (direct mail, catalogs, advertisements, advertorials, etc.), including sourcing content, producing creative, directing freelance copywriters and designers, and releasing finished products.
  3. Manage the internal review and approval process for marketing projects, providing feedback and implementing feedback from manager and peers to ensure marketing products achieve the most effective presentation.
  4. Proofread, edit, and fact-check content to ensure the presentation is accurate, compelling, and adheres to Virtuoso Direct Marketing best practices.
  5. Collaborate with Marketing Production department for scheduling, budgeting, purchasing photography, and distributing marketing products.
  6. Collaborate with supplier partners and the Data Services team to select a targeted consumer lists for direct mailers.
  7. Collaborate with Virtuoso Global Product Partnerships Account Managers to maintain awareness of supplier partner marketing goals.
  8. Attend educational conferences, seminars, and webinars to refine skills and stay current on industry trends and developments.


 Educational and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, English, communications or related field
  • 3+ years' experience in marketing or advertising
  • Account and project management experience
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and verbal skills
  • Ability to self-start, multitask, prioritize, and problem solve in a deadline driven environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and Internet navigation
  • Experience with content management systems is helpful but not required
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience is helpful but not required
  • Possible travel
