Position Summary:  The Manager, Sustainability, has an overall goal to manage the daily activities and ensure clarity on Sustainability efforts across the business. The candidate will work closely with the senior leaders in Virtuoso sustainability. They will also liaise with multiple departments to assess and help implement sustainability objectives. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess a strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. This candidate will need exceptional interpersonal skills as they will be managing relationships at multiple levels across all departments in the organization. To be successful in this role, you are masterful at keeping tasks and projects on track and can drive results within a dynamic environment. A passion for sustainability will enhance your contributions in this role.


Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Coordinates sustainability team meetings, captures notes and action items and tracks progress on objectives.
  2. Works with sustainability team to support project schedules, resource plans, and objectives, as needed.
  3. Leads and follows up on key outcomes and communication clarity from interdepartmental meetings on sustainability objectives.
  4. Supports Sustainability events.
  5. Liaison with Virtuoso Awards Guild and support of Sustainability awards process.
  6. Communicates and liaise with key external stakeholders (Members, Partners and Advisors).
  7. Communicates project progress, changes, and updates in an organized manner and coordinates the communication of these efforts for the sustainability team.
  8. Interfaces with a wide range of people from individual contributor to executive levels in all areas affected by a project.
  9. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with key contacts in various departments.
  10. Responsible for creation and management of project artifacts.
  11. Work within assigned budgets and timelines.
  12. Exhibit a strong commitment to company values.
  13. Assist the Service Desk as needed with inquiries related to sustainability.


Educational and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience and/or education in Sustainability preferred
  • Proven ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Experience in writing/editing as asset
  • Ability to align anticipated project outcomes with broader organizational goals and initiatives; "big picture thinking"
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with strong attention to details
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem solve independently
  • Proficiency in MSWord, MSExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Occasional travel may be required, both domestic and international
