Position Summary: The Video Editor/Producer lends creative, inspirational, actionable, and instructional video content to Virtuoso communications, social media, events, and websites. Whether producing video or other media arts content to support PR, to inspire and entertain audiences at Virtuoso events, or to educate constituents about Virtuoso products, services, program, and initiatives, this role is responsible for deepening engagement and connections.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Creates and develops multimedia (audio/video) content for Virtuoso stories, internal company announcement videos, external promotional social videos, product marketing videos, recruiting videos, corporate training, and other enterprise-wide projects.
  2. Scripts, storyboards, budgets, allocates resources, set deadlines, and selects optimal forms of media.
  3. Works independently, as well as part of a team to establish project deliverables.
  4. Collaborates closely with internal clients and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content.
  5. Plans video shoots; scouts, selects, and reserves shoot locations as needed.
  6. Develops production schedules.
  7. Selects and hires additional crew and talent; directs talent; makes transportation arrangements for crew, talent and equipment; and ensures all location power needs are met.
  8. Research and purchase equipment + reserves and rents equipment as needed for remote shoots.
  9. Records and edits video and sound projects, including selecting program format for final output, capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, titling, adding music/voice-over/sfx, media management and archiving project media.
  10. Manages video library and evaluates analytics.
  11. May be asked to take on other special projects as needed and/or to participate on company subcommittees, task forces, or other corporate initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4-6 years of related experience

Skills, Abilities, Experience

Technical skills in video and audio pre-production, production, and post-production including:

Video: Familiarity with professional cameras (Canon XA10, Sony PMW-F3 or similar), prosumer camcorders (Sony NXCAM HXRNX3 or similar), various HD and SD formats, preproduction/planning, studio and field production, lighting/grip, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and photography

Audio: Familiarity with professional grade audio recording equipment (Sennheiser wireless lavalier mics, Rode shotgun mics or similar), teleprompters, small format mixers, compression, EQ, effects processors, audio recording techniques for studio and field, multi-track, and waveform editing

Post-production: Familiarity with digital video editing software (Adobe: Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro X), still and motion graphics design, screen capture software (Camtasia, Movavi), and video compression for multiple delivery and hosting platforms (Vimeo, YouTube, Amazon S3)

Travel Requirements

  • Infrequent travel may be required to attend company events. (1-3 trips per year)
  • Travel will be primarily domestic but may include some international.

  • Internal: Key job contacts are primarily with managers and executives outside of the job's immediate work unit/department.
  • External: Contact with members, partners, consumers, and associated talent required to meet video content needs.
